whose stupid idea was this?
ok, i know i started my paticipation in  National Knit a Sweater in the Month of November a bit  late (November 5th. Guy Fawkes day)
and i know i decided to use up the yarn in my stash as a challenge....... and call it "gunpowder" in honor of Guy Fawkes Day.... and then i chose a LACE "V" pattern (you know, V for Vendetta?) to accentuate the design... which was dumb.. yes

but whose @#$%^& idea was it to ADD BEADS as itty accent bits on every other row on each side of the lace motif? i mean i am on a TIME crunch here... and i am adding beads to the #$%^&*& thing?

oh, right.. the entire pattern, including beads, is MY IDEA
god am i stupid
and obsessive
did i mention stupid?

and i had to tink back half a row and drop some stitches because i forgot  some of the beads....
sigh
next time? bulky yarn. stockinette. pullover. one color

...what lace pattern did you end up using? *full of curiosity*
Also, may I call you 'friend' on Ravelry? I just signed up recently.

as to Ravelry.....
sure! i will eventually log in and eventually remember to friend you back... this can take a while.

i ended up using a grouping of 11 i saw. mind you i had to reverse it, its meant to be knitted the opposite direction

(over 11 stitches)
1 and all odd rows Purl
2 k2tog, yo,k7, yo, k2tog tbl
4 k1, k2tog, yo,k5, yo, k2tog tbl, k1
6 k2, k2tog, yo,k3, yo, k2tog tbl, k2
4 k3, k2tog, yo,k1, yo, k2tog tbl, k3

then i amended it.... i added a "knit one" between groups, and therefore on each side of the lace, every other row is being added a bead. i had a tube of beads in a "stone" mix. greys, golds, lilacs, silvers.

right now...... i have one line of V going down each sleeve. i think i will keep it to one
i have three going down the back right now. i may stop those at the yoke/underarm or may continue them. (either way the beads stop in the back after the underarm level sitting on beads is no fun) if i continue them then the question becomes do i add more repeats as the stitch count goes up?

i have two just starting on either side of my V neck in front. i am debating whether to continue them straight down and add a third/fourth/whatever as i expand more stitches.. or whether to ANGLE the V lace to track along the V neck line...

Thank you! Woohoo! My first 'friend'.

Whoa, that sounds complex. As for adding repeats, you could always try it for a couple inches, and rip back if it doesn't look right. (I think I spend as much time ripping back as I do knitting, when I freeform things.)

It'll be cool to see how your sweater turns out. ^_^

It's National Sweater Knitting Month? I might just dig out the pattern and yarn for Elisabeth Lavold's Tordis sweater that I started a few years ago and only got about 3/4ths of a sleeve done. Of course, I will now have to frog that sleeve because I have no clue where I am. And then look longingly at the rest of the UFOs around the house and wonder why I've started yet ANOTHER project.

Actually, I had forgotten that I started the Best Friend cardigan just the other day. Chunky yarn with size 19 needles. I might just finish it this month yet!!

Sounds like it's going to be gorgeous, and fun to wear. Even if you don't get it all done in November.

I started the same day as you - I hadn't even heard of it before you posted. Of course, I'm an extremely slow knitter, and I'll be extremely lucky if I finish in three months!

I had actually bought some yarn and picked out a pattern a couple of months ago, but hadn't gotten around to actually starting it. So far, I've managed about an inch and a half of ribbing on the back :(

I'm using Knitpick's swish yarn in marine heather for this pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knitted-mock-turtleneck-pullover but omitting the rolled edges.
